Ages 18+ Eligible to Book COVID-19 Booster Appointment
In the face of the rapidly spreading Omicron variant, as of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, individuals aged 18 and older are eligible to book a COVID-19 booster dose appointment at Southwestern Public Health mass vaccination clinics if three months (84 days)have passed since their second dose.
Ontario has recommended third doses to increase immune response against the Omicron variant.
Appointments are required. Anyone who presents to a public health vaccination clinic without an appointment will be turned away.
Appointments are very limited for December and early January. Due to vaccine supply, vaccine brand choice will not be available at the clinic. Individuals aged 18 to 29 will be prioritized for the Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty vaccine as advised by Ministry of Health guidance.
To book an appointment, visit www.covidvaccineLM.ca or call 1-800-922-0096 ext. 9 (8:30-4:30, Monday to Friday). Please leave a message if you cannot get through right away, and a member of the Southwestern Public Health booking team will call you back as soon as possible.
Remember to cancel an appointment if you secure an earlier appointment elsewhere.
Additionally, select pharmacies are providing boosters for 18 and over at the three-month interval. Individuals will need to contact their local pharmacy for availability.
