Dog bite incident in St. Thomas on Sept. 14

Southwestern Public Health is seeking assistance in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident that occurred on September 14, 2025 at approximately 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of Forest Avenue and First Avenue in St. Thomas.

The dog is described as a medium sized, white dog, potentially a Pitbull. The dog ran down Forest Avenue toward First Avenue and into the ravine area. The dog was not wearing a collar and my be a stray.  
 
Public health is seeking information about the dog to verify its rabies vaccine history. If you have any information about this dog or its owner, please contact Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
