Dog bite incident in St. Thomas on September 1
Southwestern Public Health is seeking assistance in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident that occurred on September 1, 2025 at approximately 6:45 p.m., near the north side of Lake Margaret Trail in St. Thomas.
The victim was riding a bicycle on the Lake Margaret Trail when they were bitten by an unleashed dog. The dog is described as a large, light-grey, female Pitbull. The female owner is described as having long dark hair and was wearing dark pants and a dark shirt at the time of the incident. The male owner is described as wearing a hat, possibly blue in colour.
Please note that the dog and its owner are not in any trouble. We are trying to confirm the dog’s vaccination status to assess the risk of rabies exposure for the person who was bitten.
