Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection
Protecting residents in long-term care settings from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is essential, especially during RSV season. Vaccination is a key preventative measure that reduces the risk of severe illness and outbreaks in these environments.
Southwestern Public Health provides RSV vaccines to eligible providers in Oxford and Elgin counties.
High-risk older adult RSV vaccine program update:
Ontario's publicly funded adult RSV prevention program has expanded for the 2025-2026 fall season!
- Ontario residents 75 years of age and older, along with those aged 60-74 who meet certain high-risk criteria, are eligible to receive RSV vaccine. Starting September 22nd, vaccines for eligible individuals are available for you to order through SWPH.
