In Ontario, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) protects workers on the job. Under the Internal Responsibility System as explained in this legislation, everyone in a workplace is responsible for health and safety. Everyone must help to identify health and safety hazards and work together to solve the issues.

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA) and the Human Rights Code also need to be considered when addressing workplace health and safety issues.
