SWPH expresses condolences on the passing of our public health colleague, Dr. Malcolm Lock

Joint statement from Bernia Martin, Board of Health Chair, and Dr. Ninh Tran, Medical Officer of Health at Southwestern Public Health 

We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our colleague, Dr. Malcolm Lock, who most recently served as Acting Medical Officer of Health at neighbouring health unit, Grand Erie Public Health.  

Dr. Lock was a valued mentor to many across the health sector during his illustrious career. His staunch support of public health was evident and his leadership and contributions to local health initiatives will remain his legacy. He was a steadfast ally for our health unit, serving as an advisor and support during transitions between our own Medical Officer of Health staff. We will remember him fondly with professional and personal admiration.   

We respectfully extend our sincere condolences to Dr. Lock’s family as they navigate this great loss.
