SWPH investigating a dog bite in Shedden today, June 25th
Southwestern Public Health is seeking help to identify a dog involved in a bite incident today in Shedden.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 am at the pavilion located on the soccer fields at Corsley Park (9210 Union Rd, Shedden, ON N0L 2E0).
The individual was changing garbage under the pavilion when a dog on a retractable leash approached them and bit their leg. The dog was described as a medium-sized black/grey poodle. The owner was described as a male, approximately in his mid-fifties, standing about 5'10" tall with an average build, grey hair, and a medium-length grey beard. At the time of the observation, he was also walking a second medium-sized beige poodle on a retractable leash.
Public Health wants to confirm the vaccination status of the dog to allow the victim and their health care provider to determine next steps related to rabies post-exposure prophylaxis.
