Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) offers free and confidential pregnancy testing. We’re here to support you with clear and unbiased information about your options.

Where can I take a pregnancy test?

You can take a pregnancy test by:

• Visiting one of our sexual health clinics

• Asking your healthcare provider

• Buying a test from the pharmacy

Pregnancy tests are most accurate when taken after you've missed your period. It's best to test using your first urine of the day.

What are my options if I'm pregnant?

If you’re pregnant, you have three choices. You have the right to make the decision that is best for you. None of these options are better or worse than the others.

1. Continue your pregnancy and become a parent.

2. Continue your pregnancy and plan for adoption.

3. End your pregnancy with a therapeutic abortion.

What are my options if I decide to become a parent?

If you decide to become a parent, here’s how to get started:

• Book an appointment for prenatal care. Seeing a healthcare provider early is important for a healthy pregnancy.

What are my options if I decide on adoption?

Adoption is an option for your pregnancy if you’re not ready to be a parent:

• Talk to our Public Health Nurses: They can share information and support.

• Learn more about how adoption works at Adoption Ontario.

What are my options if I decide to not to continue my pregnancy?

If you choose to end your pregnancy, we’re here to help.

• Contact our Public Health Nurses: They’ll explain your options and connect you with local abortion services.

• Find a clinic: Explore services at Abortion Services – South West or visit National Abortion Federation Canada for services across Canada.
