Southwestern Public Health has confirmed that a mosquito trap located in Woodstock, Ontario, has tested positive for West Nile Virus. This is the first mosquito trap to produce a positive test in the Southwestern Public Health region in 2025.
A bat located in the City of Woodstock has tested positive for rabies. An individual who was exposed to the bat is receiving rabies post-prophylaxis which will prevent them from contracting the virus.
