Yesterday, PeopleCare Tavistock resident Earl Morrison was one of the first long-term care home residents in the region to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Local modelling projects 100 daily cases or more in early January
Today Southwestern Public Health added 71 cases to its COVID-19 dashboard. This is the highest single-day increase in the region to-date, exceeding the previous record of 47 cases on December 23.

Monday the Province of Ontario announced a wide reaching shutdown that will begin on December 26 at 12:01 am and last for at least 28 days in the southern part of Ontario. Today Southwestern Public Health reported a record single day high of more than 45 cases.
