It is important to keep your mouth clean and healthy and continue seeing a dental professional at every age. Older adults may have unique dental health needs that we can help with. Please connect with our oral health team if you have questions.

Free dental care for low-income seniors

The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program provides free dental care for low-income seniors. You can apply for the program if you:

  • Are 65 or older
  • Are a resident of Ontario
  • Have a yearly net income of $22,200 or less for a single senior, or a combined yearly net income of $37,100 or less for a couple
  • Have no other form of dental benefits, including private insurance or dental coverage under another dental program

Apply online or pick up an application from one of our locations. Our staff will help you find out if you are eligible and fill out the application form. We can also tell you about other dental services you can access.

What is covered

The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program coverage includes:

  • Check ups, including scaling, fluoride and polishing
  • Repairing broken teeth and cavities
  • X-rays
  • Removing teeth or abnormal tissue (oral surgery)
  • Anaesthesia
  • Treating infection and pain (endodontic services)
  • Treating gum conditions and diseases (periodontal services)
  • Partial coverage of dental prosthetics, including dentures

Book an appointment

You will receive a welcome package and client ID card in the mail once your application is approved. Once you have your card, please call us to schedule an appointment at one of our dental clinics.

Denture care

Dentures are a part of your mouth. They need proper care and cleaning to prevent oral health problems:

  • Wear dentures regularly during the day and take them out every night
  • Brush them daily with water only
  • Soak them in water or denture cleaner at night
  • Use an ultra-soft toothbrush or washcloth to massage and clean your mouth where your dentures rest
  • Visit a dental professional regularly for an oral health check-up, including reviewing the fit and condition of your dentures
